1. Born in Morris Street, Birtley, Co. Durham
2. Moved to "Overdale", corner of Main Street and Ramsleigh , Kings Newton as a young child. Detached house.
3. "Ramsleigh", Main Street, Kings Newton. A semi-detached house.
4. After marrying Mick Stevenson they moved to Plum Tree Cottage at Stanton by Bridge. This cottage had a midden, no electricity and no running water. Uncle Mick horse ploughed . He didn't rate the job. Toilet a long way down the garden.
5. Morley. Grandad Baddiley insisted they move back to Kings Newton, as Alice was pregnant with her first child, David . Wage increase for Mick as he was working for Co-op farm . Had to carry water down to the toilet.
6. "Ramsleigh", Main Street, Kings Newton.

10. Willesley, near Ashby de la Zouche. Only stayed there f or two weeks, but had to give one month's notice.

Most of these moves were work related. Mick was a farm hand. Followed by working on the Blue Buses, Derby to Burton on Trent.

The furniture removers used were Riddell and Stamp. They enjoyed giving the family discount on each move, as they were such good customers.

He ended his working life on the Blue Buses on the Burton/Derby route, via Willington. The buses always smelt of Stardrops cleaner which they used frequently to clean the upholstery.
