Received OBE for services in First World War. He was a boot maker, Trained at Locke's, and suggested that instead ofthr owing Army boots away when soles or heels were worn theysho uld be repaired. He set up a unit in Nice to do the work an dwas made CSM. Post war he worked for some years in Paris.
